Poor Boy writers are Garry Roberts and Bill Blackburn who between them
have more years song writing and playing in bands than they care to
remember. Along the way they’ve developed grey or no hair, wrinkles,
aches, pains and a lot of talent and experience. The rest they could
do without the talent and experience they’ll hang on too

Asa Murphy The young man from Liverpool who is receiving wonderful reviews throughout the UK and now in the USA, with quotes such as “Asa Murphy is one in a million”. Many have compared his voice to Bobby Darin and when you hear him sing you’ll understand why. These songs from the pen of Blackburn and Roberts have the combination of wonderful and unique melodies coupled with thought provoking lyrics. (Left) This was one of our first gigs with Asa many many years ago now.
(Right) Asa potential could be seen very early on and his good nature showed through dispite Garry's skitting, but in the next song he gets his own back during Garrys solo.(all in good fun )

Backed by the Ronnie Scotts band, Asa sang some of his own compositions (see above) and swing standards, which was reportedly a great success with the audience and A&R from the four major record labels
Asa performed"LIVE" for Liverpools (Capital of culture) at the
Philharmonic Hall on May 9th
The concert was a complete success and Asa recieved a standing ovation look at the Daily Post writup
